Freedom Maine Man Catches Record-Setting White Perch


A Freedom man caught a record 3.02-pound white perch at Ellis Pond in Freedom in December, according to the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife fisheries biologists.

IF&W and the Maine Sportsman newspaper, which is edited by avid outdoorsman and TV personality Harry Vanderweide, jointly announce new records and the publication maintains the record book.

It looks more like a bass than a perch

We have yellow perch like the midwest but also these are white perch and are not the same coloring or size as the yellow perch
